What is required for pets to come to Ruffin It Doggy Daycare?
For the health and safety of our guests at Ruffin It Doggy Daycare, each guest must be current on the following vaccinations performed by a veterinarian prior to arrival.
Bring us a copy of your pet’s records, or we can contact your veterinarian directly for the info.
- Rabies Vaccine
- Bordetella Vaccine
- Distemper/Parvo Vaccine
- ***Strongly encourage Canine Influenza & Leptospirosis
Stay current on vaccinations. All pets who have expired vaccinations will need to wait 14 days after they receive vaccinations before they are allowed to be a guest at Ruffin It Doggy Daycare. This is for the safety of your best friend and all other guests at our facility.
We require all of our guests to be on heartworm and flea/tick preventative medication.
All guests at Ruffin It Doggy Daycare must be parasite free as well. If your pet is found to have parasites in his/her feces after checking in to our facility, you will be contacted and either you or your emergency contact will need to come and pick up your pet immediately as this is a contamination risk to all other guests.
Spay/Neuter Policy
Dogs who are intact (not spayed/neutered) will not be able to participate in group play after six months of age. Being intact does not mean your dog is a “bad dog”, however science tells us and actual experience confirms that intact guests emit different hormones and other dogs’ reactions to this can often alter the group dynamic enough to impact the overall safety of all dogs involved. If your pet has been recently spayed or neutered, they will be required to wait 14 days before resuming play to reduce any risk of injury.
What is the daycare/group play evaluation and why is it required?
The safety of your best friend and all of our other guests is our top priority; therefore, a Group Play Evaluation gives us the information that we need to determine if your dog is compatible for group play. We will have them interact with our human staff as well as other dogs of different temperaments, sizes and sexes to assess their temperament. This evaluation normally takes about an hour and a half to give your dog the opportunity to become fully comfortable with a new environment. These evaluations will be scheduled.
What happens if my pet gets sick or injured while at Ruffin It?
We love your best friends just like they are our own and will make every effort to contact you or your emergency contact if your pet becomes sick or is injured. In an emergency, we will seek veterinary attention. Our staff is also certified in CPR and Pet First Aid.
If my pet is aggressive toward people or other animals, are they allowed at Ruffin It Doggy Daycare?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept aggressive pets at Ruffin It as this is a liability to other guests and staff members. If your pet becomes aggressive toward staff members after checking in, we will call you and either you or your emergency contact will be asked to come and pick up your pet.
